Where do I start?

For a few months now, I have been thinking about becoming an Au pair once I have graduate from Uni next year. An Au Pair is basically a Nanny, you go and live with a family, and look after their children. Sounds easy..

I have a lot of questions though! Where in the world do I go? How do I find a family? How much will I get paid? Will I like it? ..Time to research!

I have found a few websites that I have been looking at to help me answer some questions!

Firstly.. Get Australia! This is the website I first found about becoming an Au Pair. I was signed up to the camp america news letter, and they emailed me about it. They have lots of other jobs you can do in Australia, but I clicked on 'Teaching and Childcare jobs' and Au pair was an option! The website also says how much is the average pay is for jobs, and can help with flights, visa's and finding a job!

I then clicked on a link from that website, that took me to a specific Nanny Australia website. This is from the same people, but give you more specific information on Nanny jobs.

I then thought, does it have to be Australia? It's a long way from home if I didn't like it! I then found the website 'Au Pair world' and started looking at that. This is for pretty much any where in the world you could wish to go from France, America or Guatemala (where ever that is) You can create a profile, that families can look at, and you can search for them. This website, you are more on your own, finding flights and visas if needed, but it is possible to choose a family, not get given one like other websites!

So I have created a profile on Au Pair world, with pictures and text of the experience I have had with children..messaged a few families I liked the look of..and now just waiting with my fingers crossed!
